    Pounding the streets

Earlier than usual – I’ve been out in town (Bolton) to exchange a Christmas present (non-working Blu-Ray). Whilst in town I thought it would be a great chance to practice some street photography.

Today I have finished a cardigan for a 3 month old (commission work). It is pretty and I may even share some photos tomorrow. Tomorrow I’ll be making a hat and then I’m free for more commissions!

    Cinder Paws

    One wet week

Cinder has spent today playing in the mud that is our backyard. This does result in her long fur getting far too muddy and I will bet I get another shower time incursion from the fuzz ball tomorrow.

  4. Day 6 and the last reflection

Day 6 - End of Christmas. One last reflection.

Day 6 – End of Christmas. One last reflection.

So the decorations came down today (if you’re not versed in Cat Time, by today I mean since I last slept). Everything is away for another 11months (almost exactly as we put stuff up on the 10th/11th December). The living room feels bare without the tree. What is Cinder going to climb tomorrow to make up for the tree being gone? Answers on a postcard folks!

PS – can you tell I’ve been doing my nails again?

Another day, another Lowry shift. I do love the new additions to the area, Media City, the bridges across the canal, the various sculptures, each make it a lovely place to be.

A little later than planned (I was intending to have this done before fencing, but my phone shorted out this afternoon, so had to deal with sorting that out again!), but we’re here.

Day 2 of A Year in Pictures

This is my Holden Shawlette. I knitted this on honeymoon in Florida last year(!).

Today has been a bit of a busy day – lots of housework done. The bathroom is now sparkling again. Now to get off to bed.

(Drop me a line if you want to model for me this year!)

Day one of A Year in Pictures (AKA Project 365)

New year, new project. Taken with my new Lens Baby Spark. Going to be fun getting to know this one.

This year I plan on doing at least one set portrait a month. So if you’d like to work with me, comment. Go on. You know you want to.

  10. No bake chocolate cheesecake

Been a bit of a busy year. What with the death of Hannah and Apollo, followed by the addition of Cinder, later going to DWcon and our wedding in October, this year has been a long one.

I thought I’d take a different approach to Christmas, I didn’t have much time to knit gifts this year. This year I’ve been baking for folk. These are a lovely simple addition to the hampers I’ve made up.

    To make these you need:
    4 250ml Kilner jars

    Base:
    8 Oreo cookies
    25g melted butter

    Filling:
    200g soft cheese
    200g Nutella
    1/2 tsp vanilla extract

    Topping:
    A few chocolate drops(optional)

    Method
    1) turn the Oreos into breadcrumbs in a blender (or bash in a bag with a rolling pin)
    2) mix in the melted butter
    3) press the base mixture into the bottom of the jars
    4) cream the Nutella and soft cheese together, until completely combined
    5) stir in the vanilla, making sure to mix thoroughly
    6) dollop filling into jar, on top of base, making sure there are no gaps
    7) sprinkle on chocolate drops if desired.
