This week has been all about getting yarn ready for dyeing (and then for you lovely people to buy*!). I’ve finished knitting a jumper for myself (first one in over 12 months). The yarn I dyed today was for a commission. Now I’m going to finish making up my new jumper.

*If you’re interested in the current yarn 60% Merino/40% Poly-acrylic 4-ply(suitable for socks/shawls etc.) 100g/450m in your choice of colour way, with uk p&p included for £10/skein. Message me if you want to claim your’s!

So it’s been a busy few days. We went to the theatre on Friday night. In the snow. It took 5 hours to get home. 15miles. Kian pushed 18cars on the A666 (about 2 miles from home). I can happily say that my Saxo can handle being in 6inches+ of snow. I miss the snow. I wish it hadn’t melted so quickly.

Today I saw Shakespeare 4 Kids perform The Tempest. If you get the chance, go see them. It was fantastic just to see the school groups so completely engrossed in the stage. I didn’t see any child not utterly raptured by the stage.

Tomorrow will be a long day. So I had better go sleep some of it away!

  4. Sleepy day

    Still got snow everywhere!

Another week another commission. This one I’m making with my own hand dyed yarn (cotton). Both the girls (Walnut and Cinder) have been very sleepy today, thank goodness. We’ve had a lovely gentleman from Ringtons come around and we have some new tea to try on Monday. Tomorrow I have a shift at The Lowry – I’ll be seeing The Tempest (being performed by Shakespeare 4 kids). So I’d better get off to bed now!

Well it’s snowing here in lovely Bolton. With that it does mean that I’m mostly stuck indoors (joints don’t agree with being out in the cold for longer than a few minutes). Being stuck in does have it’s downsides, like not seeing Mum on her birthday (Saturday). One upside is that I’ve got most of a jumper knitted this weekend (for me!). Yesterday Kian and I tried out a new-to-us restaurant with his Taste card (2for1/special discounts), Retreat, we would definitely recommend it.

  6. It’s Showtime!

So I am home again from another shift at The Lowry. May be the last one for the week (got 2 more, but only if someone calls in sick). Today I sorted the car insurance for the year. Still over £1000 for both Kian and I on my little Saxo. Also been and done a food shop (hence posting this at past 2am!).

^Today’s photo feels rather reminiscent of Edward Hopper’s Nighthawks of which I am rather keen on (I’ve done a few pieces of my work based on it before, including an acrylic/pastel piece that normal resides at the top of our main stairs).

    Now to bed.

  7. Reflecting on reflections

Today I got my Reddit Secret Santa presents sent off (don’t worry, it’s a rematcher gift I already sent my mail present long before Christmas!). I also had a shift at the Lowry. I delivered my latest commission too. Tomorrow I shall probably spend knitting, playing with Cinder and possibly even getting my studio tidied.

Today we saw snow fall. Cinder seemed to enjoy it. She didn’t enjoy trying to go to the bathroom this morning.. Just watching the last episode of Firefly. I think this may make me cry. Damn it not being finished.

Finished knitting project (started on Thursday) a Reddit Secret Santa rematch gift.

This weekend saw me make slow cooked french toast, go to MoSI for a stargazing day (including a pop-up planetarium), shopping and even picked up some bargains! I got 2 photo albums that should have been £140 for just £20. Need to look at sorting out our wedding photos soon.

I finished a Möbius strip scarf – only started it on Thursday. It’s for someone through Reddit Gifts Secret Santa (rematch). Send it off tomorrow with the other parts to send. Still waiting on my gift this year.

Nights come in early – Lowry lit it up.

I wasn’t too well last night when we got home from club.

Tomorrow is the final night of Arabian Nights (one of the Christmas shows at the Lowry). I did my final shift on it this evening. I’m going to miss it. Next week we get back to short run productions and one-off shows.
